I’m ridiculously excited to create with you and give you photos that’ll end up on fridge doors, insta feeds, screensavers, and in family group chats for years to come.

This guide is basically your behind-the-scenes pass to what it’s like being in front of my camera - no stiff poses, no “say cheese,” fun, chaos, cuddles, zero awkward, and photos you’ll actually love.

It’s crammed with my favourite tips, tricks, and sneaky hacks I’ve picked up over the years to help you feel prepped, comfy, and ready to squeeze every last drop of goodness out of your session.

Let's book in a date!
Once your booking payment is made, your date is secure.

I compleeetely understand how awkward it can feel when there’s a big ol’ camera pointed at you. I’m usually the first to panic about what to do with my hands or throw a tantrum when I don’t know where to look.
That’s why I’m here to guide you as much, or as little as you need. I’ll hunt down the good light, give you gentle pointers on where to go and what to do.
Basically, I’m your light-finder, pose-tweaker, and professional hype-girl rolled into one.

But here’s the best-kept secret: your favourite photos aren’t going to be the ones where everything looks “perfect”. They’ll happen when you forget about the camera and allow yourself to get caught up in the moment.

So go on… chat, laugh, be silllllyyy, chase the kids, let the dog jump up, throw your partner over your shoulder, snuggle snuggle snuggle, dance like a dag, REMEMBER TICKLE FIGHTS?!
Just have a bloody good time.
Because honestly? That’s when the best stuff happens. The messy, unplanned, beautifully real moments - the ones that end up becoming your absolute favourites.

The best photos don’t care that your hands look awkward.

WHAT TO WEAR.

What happens after the session?

DOWNLOADING YOUR FILES

It’s the Bass Coast… so we have to talk about the weather, it has a personality all of its own.
You can head out the door in sunshine and by the time you’ve parked the car it’s suddenly blowing an Antarctic gale.

So here’s the deal: always overpack. Layers, jackets, blankets - whatever you can throw in the car. Being cold = being uncomfortable, and that’s when sessions get cut short. I’d much rather you be warm and happy so we can keep the good vibes going.
On my end, I’ll be watching the weather/wind/tides like a hawk all day (basically a part-time weatherman at this point). Overcast skies? Perfect. Some of the dreamiest light happens when it’s cloudy. If it looks like proper rain is rolling in, we’ll make the call together and reschedule as soon as we can.

Rule No. 1 (and the only rule that really matters): wear what makes you feel like a 10/10. Pick the outfit that makes you do a little dance in the mirror. If you feel good, you’ll look good - it’s honestly that simple.

But that's not really that helpful, is it?
So here's some more rules, but take them with a grain of salt. The most important thing? Wear something that feels like you. I don’t want you looking back in 20 years thinking, “Well… cute photos, but who is that? And what on earth are they wearing?

A few little things to keep in mind
1. Logos & loud graphics = nope.
They steal the spotlight (and not in a cute way).

2. Colours that vibe with my editing and shooting style = big yes.
Think warm, muted, earthy tones - browns, burnt oranges, every shade of green, creamy whites, more brown, blues, warm yellows, dusty pinks.  These shades love the camera (and my editing style) almost as much as I do.

3. Matchy-matchy? Not so much.
I get it — dressing everyone in the same outfit is tempting (and easy!)… but it hides everyone’s personality. Instead, pick a colour palette and mix it up with different textures, patterns and styles.
Coordinated = fab. Full clones = nah.

4. Shoes?
Beach sessions? We’ll probably kick them off anyway.
Heading through bushes or long grass? Bring sturdy shoes and thank yourself later.

5. Things to consider for tiny humans
Nappy covers are your friend. If your bub is still in nappies, a cute little cover works wonders in photos.
Spare outfit = absolute lifesaver (especially for spilly babies or dirt-loving toddlers).
Late sunset shoot? Pop the kids’ PJs in the car. Quick change after the session = snoozing all the way home.

And hey, if you’re stuck or second-guessing, flick me some outfit pics. I’m more than happy to play stylist and help pull it all together.

Your gallery will be ready and delivered online within 4 weeks (usually sooner, if I’m on a roll). The second I’ve finished editing and uploaded your images, I’ll appear in your inbox with the link to all your photos. Your gallery site is private, easy to use, and looks beautiful - more like a mini website rather than a boring folder of files. You can scroll, favourite, download high-res files, and even order prints or albums straight from the gallery.

When that email lands in your inbox, make a thing of it! Pop it up on the big screen - TV or computer - grab your favourite drink, pile the family/partner/pets onto the couch, and hit play on your gallery together. That very first scroll? Always the best.
Highly recommend popcorn, wine, choccy, or ice-cream while you scroll. It’s basically a movie night… starring you.
Once you’ve finished swooning, make sure you download all your images and save them to your own devices (multiple, if you can!). Backups = future you will thank present you.

Bass Coast forecast:
unpredictable with a 100% chance of me checking it hourly.

The process is super simple - your gallery lets you select and download all your images straight to your device. Easy peasy.
Important note: please don’t screenshot your photos.
Screenshots are for memes, not your memories.
They squish the quality, crop things weirdly, and basically undo all the magic I’ve put into editing them.
Downloading properly = sharp, beautiful photos you can actually print, frame, and treasure.

Once you’ve downloaded your photos, it’s up to you to keep them safe and backed up. Pop them on a hard drive, in the cloud, or somewhere you’ll actually remember. Do yourself a favour now and tuck them away somewhere secure. Future-you will be forever grateful.

PRINT YOUR PHOTOS (!!!!!!)

There’s nothing like holding a photo in your hands - something real that ends up on the fridge, tucked into albums, framed on shelves, and treasured for decades. Phones die, hard drives crash, clouds vanish into thin air.
They’re the keepsakes that get passed down, carried from house to house, and adored long after iPhones are ancient history.

Your gallery is directly linked to a high-quality printing lab in Melbourne. You can order beautiful prints and frames without even changing out of your PJs. Full transparency: the lab sets the costs and I add a lil’ 10% profit margin. Worth every cent for prints that actually stand the test of time.

Other faves of mine? Streets Imaging, Fred Snow, and Love JK.

A friendly PSA: if you send your photos to Kmart or Big W, don’t be surprised if they come back looking like sad, pixelated imposters. Colours shift, quality nosedives, and let’s be real - your memories deserve better.
There’s truly nothing better than filling your home (and your fridge) with photos of the people you love. So don’t let them gather dust on your phone. PRINT. YOUR. PHOTOS.
